New Workstars TV
Over the last 12 months, more customers are choosing to embed Workstars TV into their intranet. If a high traffic page is chosen (e.g. home page), this can generate a significant amount of traffic to our servers which can impact their performance.
Today we are pleased to announce a brand new version of Workstars TV. Although the look and feel remains the same, the new version operates on its own dedicated infrastructure and uses global caching to support hundreds of thousands if not millions of requests.
To setup Workstars TV:
- login to your administration portal
- click the "Add-ons" menu
- select "Workstars TV" and follow the setup wizard
We have also implemented the following improvements:
- Birthdays are now included
- You can select what types of post you want to see (e.g. Recognition, Company Awards, etc.)
Is there anything I need to do?
If you are using the old Workstars TV, you should migrate to the new version as soon as possible. The old version is now deprecated and will be removed in a future update.
Manage Wall Entries
As part of this release, we have also updated the wall page in the administration portal.
From this page, you can:
- Search the wall for a recipient
- Filter the wall by Type, Date and Status.
- Link to the origin of a wall entry (i.e. a Recognition, Birthday, etc.)
- Pin/Unpin an entry to/from the top of the wall
- Remove a wall entry
- Access the settings & configuration page by clicking the cogs icon
From this page, you can:
- Adjust your wall settings (previously they were configured in the "System Settings")
- Setup/Manage Workstars TV
